“The Green Hornet” Takes No.1 Position At Box-Office

Jan 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) There has been no dearth of happiness for the makers of “The Green Hornet” who have successfully accomplished their mission at the box-office. The movie soon after its release has notched the top position wrapping up a whopping $34 million at the weekend. The Seth Rogen, Cameron Diaz starer super-hero flick has scored the top position toppling over “True Grit” which reigned at the top position last weekend.
At present “True Grit” is residing at the third position with $11.2 million, while the second position has been snatched by “The Dilemma” rooting $17.4 million. Exhibitor Relations had made box-office predictions that “The Green Hornet” would go to earn as much as $40.5 million over the weekend and in terms of overseas market it would do a business of $56 million. However, even if “The Green Hornet” has not been able to live upto the exact box-office predictions, it has certainly taken a top position going on to beat all the other competitors. No doubt that the comic super hero flick has successfully been able to live upto the expectations of the audience winning their hearts with its exclusive story line. The movie is a laugh riot directed by Michel Gondry of the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” fame. The film also stars Academy Award winning actor Christoph Waltz.
The movie has won the hearts of the audience not only with the help of its entertaining and comic element but has also caught every body’s attention with its mesmerizing special effects. The movie have not only ousted “True Grit” and “The Dilemma” but has also given a good competition to the Award winners like the “The King’s Speech” and “Black Swan”.
