The Go-Go’s Calls Off Farewell Tour After Guitarist Fall

June 12, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The Go-Go’s, the all-female American rock band, had to call off their summer farewell tour “Happily Ever After” as the guitarist Jane Wiedlin was injured. She fell down from a 20-foot height while climbing in Northern California, where she stays, Jane informed via her website.

The ACL replacement surgery of Jane is scheduled in a few weeks. The recovery process may take even a year.

The tour of the Go-Go’s, was planned to start on July 7 at the Lilith Fair stop in San Diego. However, the tickets of the concert will be refunded.

According to an official statement, “The heartbroken band hopes that the fans will pray for a speedy recovery of Jane. Meanwhile, the refund process has started and anyone can avail it at the point of purchase.”

The Go-Go’s band is well known for the hits like ‘Our Lips Are Sealed’ and ‘We Got the Beat’. It has singer Belinda Carlisle, Wiedlin, bassist Kathy Valentine, guitarist Charlotte Caffey and drummer Gina Schock.
