gameJune 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The comedy-drama ‘The Game’ is set to return to American TV this year with a fresh new look. The show, which premiered in 2006 on the CW Network and got canceled in 2009, has been re-launched by the BET network. Reportedly the network is in official talks with ‘Paramount’ which is the parent company of ‘The Game’ and new episodes are being planned for airing this year. The fans of the show will get to see the veteran TV stars Tia Mowry and Pooch Hall. A marathon of series’ third season was aired on May 31. The Memorial Day served as the perfect opportunity for the show to remind the American audience about itself.

The viewership enjoyed by the show dropped slightly in its third season in comparison to the first two but the main cause of the shows cancellation was CW trying to free its schedule of half hour comedies. Though creator Mara Brock Akil tried to convince the network to give the show a one-hour slot, the network officially announced the cancellation of the show on May 20 2010.

The plot of ‘The Game’ revolves around Melanie Barnett played by Tia Mowry who is a 1st year med student. She gives up the opportunity to study in one of the best medical colleges just to be with her sportsman boyfriend. Going against her parents, Melanie Barnett tries to adjust to her new life. She meets new friends in the form of her husband’s team mates’ mother and wife. Together they balance the professional life of their husbands and their domestic life.
