ellen Jan 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ellen began her show today, on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” by reminding us of her New Year’s Resolution to become the world’s most popular talk show, or, as she calls it, her “Quest For World Domination.” She played a couple of soundtracks to be the “theme sound” so to speak, for the quest, but she said that they will continue to work on it as these were just silly. She said we are all alike in the world, we all have to eat, and like music, and dancing. She then danced around the audience, which is a good sign that her back is actually much better.

“Mathew Broderick” and “Mary J Blige” were today’s guest stars, and today is Mary J Blige’s birthday, and so Ellen sang her a Birthday song, which was simply, “Mary, this is your birthday song, It isn’t very long…..” and she put down the mic. “Jillian Michaels”, from “The Biggest Loser” was also a guest today, and she is on the cover of “Ladies Home Journal” Magazine, which Ellen was in. Ellen is also on the cover of “Entertainment Weekly,” with “Simon Cowell,” her costar in “American Idol” where Ellen will be the new judge this season, in the place of “Paula Abdul.”

“Matthew Broderick” was the first guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” today. He and his wife, “Sarah Jessica Parker” has a new set of twins, named Tabitha and Lauretta. They are seven months old. He said his son James likes them, he thinks, or at least he tries. Ellen gave the girls two tiny pairs of “heels” and matching purses, which Matthew said they would love. His new movie, “Wonderful World,” was shot in Shreveport, Louisiana, but Matthew couldn’t remember that, so Ellen said it was okay. He said he plays a grump who has a very negative perspective on life. Ellen was trying to get him to say a secret word, which was “bronzer” and she finally did it, although he seemed very confused when the bells starting ringing because she won.

Jillian Michaels was the next guest, and she came out on stage in her workout clothes. She weighted 17 pounds when she was 13 years old, so she does understand what it is, and how it feels, but she said she does not believe in sympathy, because it will not help. She showed Ellen some exercises that can be done to help you stay centered, which were mainly a variation of squatting and walking while in the squat position.

“Mary J Blige” was the last guest, and she came out singing her hit “I Am”, which you can see here… http://ellen.warnerbros.com/music/ As usual, everyone in the audience got a copy of her new CD. She brought Ellen a pair of her signature sunglasses. When asked what she did for Christmas, Mary replied that she had played “Band Hero.” Ellen had Mary a huge cake brought out, and all of the audience sang “Happy Birthday” to Mary J Blige. Can you imagine singing to her, OR playing “Band Hero” and having her there to sing? I have loved Mary J Blige ever since I saw her on the “Oprah Winfrey Show” and she shared with us that her favorite Christmas song is “O Holy Night” because it has everything in it that Christmas is supposed to be about, falling on our knees, in and out of church, and about the baby Jesus being born. I found it absolutely wonderful that someone who has the fame that Mary J Blige has still remembers who’s birthday we were celebrating at Christmas, and I hope she has a wonderful birthday today!
