Dec 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Ellen came out and said that they had the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” staff party at Applebees the other night, and that it got so crazy that she is no longer welcome there. This drew a laugh from the audience. She then called several audience members out to play “Musical Chair Santas” again. This time, her co-star played one of the Santas. She explained that this game is much like Musical Chairs, except that you sit in Santa’s lap. It was, was again, hilarious. Everyone got an Ipod classic.

She announced that her issue of “O” magazine goes off the shelf tomorrow, and asked that everyone buys a copy. As you may know, this is Oprah Winfrey’s magazine that Ellen was on the cover of. She then went into the “What’s wrong with these photos?” One picture showed a little girl, who loves throwing pennies in the fountain at the mall, throwing pennies in the toilet. It was cute. After the break, Ray Romano came out on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” You may remember him from “Everybody Loves Raymond” and now he is starring in “Men of a Certain Age”. The show follows “The Closer”, on Monday nights, and did very well in the ratings. It is a drama with comedic moments. He went on to describe how he has mystery bruises, and thinks his wife is hitting him in his sleep. He added that he now wears a cup when he sleeps. The audience thought this story was very funny. He has been married for 22 years. As far as her Christmas present, he asked, “What do you get a woman who has everything because of you?” The audience, mostly women, groaned. He then promised to win them back over. He said he makes her gift every year. He makes her a 12 month picture album, from pictures of their family. He then brought out his twins sons. They were full grown older men. Ellen told him, “These are not your sons.” So next he calls out his real sons, and they were of two different races. “One of them are taller,” he laughs. “Those are not your boys either,” Ellen told him. Then his real sons came out. Their names are Greg and Matt.

The next “Ellen DeGeneres Show” guest was the wife of Pat Hellman, who left the NFL to go fight in the war, after 9/11, and was then killed in friendly fire. He was playing for the Arizona Cardinals, and the tragedy of Sept 11th touched him so deeply, he decided to go join the military. She said it was a very emotional decision, but she supported it, because it was so important to him. The first time he left he was stationed in Iraq. Then he made it home safely, and was home for 5 or 6 months before he went back over to Afghanistan. About two weeks later, she got word that he was killed in an ambush. It was not until about 5 weeks afterward that she found out it was friendly fire. She said that it was along process to find out how he died.

Tonya Evans was the next guest, who came out to show us “101 ways to decorate with “O” magazine. The first was a toaster coosie, a cover for the toaster made out of glued magazine pages. The next was a center piece for the coffee table. Then Ellen interrupted with “The Twelve Days of Giveaway”. This is day 8, which is all about Sears, who is a strong supporter of our troops.  All of the audience member got a Kodak Easy Share digital camera. They also got a Craftsman Auto Hammer and multi tool set, an Epson photo printer, and a One Thousand Dollar gift card!
