April 7, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have taken their nineteenth child, Josie Duggar, home. The Duggar family has a reality program, 19 Kids and Counting, based upon their lives and their having so many children. Recently, the couple had a daughter, Josie, who was born prematurely in December 2009. After Josie spent approximately four months in the neonatal intensive care unit, her parents were able to take Josie home. Josie was delivered prematurely at only 25 weeks’ gestation. She was weighing 1lb. 6oz. then and is now up to 4lbs. 9oz. and doing much better.

Dad Jim Bob has stated that the couple is appreciative for the prayers of thousands. Michelle has mentioned that they are keyed up and are running on an adrenaline. She has been executing the routine of feeding the baby every three hours, diapering and taking her temperature. They are thrilled that baby is doing so well.

The couple, who got wedded in 1984, has eighteen more children born before Josie. They possess nine daughters and ten sons, counting two sets of fraternal twins and all of them have their names commencing with J.

The Duggars are old-fashioned Christians, in keeping with their family website. They have fervent convictions on issues like home schooling, spending scanty time on TV and the Internet. The Duggars are considered the representatives of the Quiver full faction, which instructs that kids are God’s blessings and that husbands and wives must gleefully greet every child they are given.

The Duggars have not omitted the likelihood of a twentieth child.
