Jan 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The poor girl gets cheated on by her picture-perfect murderer husband. “The Craigslist Killer” is an original Lifetime film that was premiered this Monday, at 9:00 p.m. The movie forms its basis on an actual story of a Boston University medical student, by the name of Phillip Markoff, who used to be in search for women in the erotic section of Craigslist for a very simple reason to meet, link up, humiliate and finally kill the woman. The story revolves around the life of the notorious serial killer, Phillip Markoff.

As far as the story is concerned, it has three dimensions from which it could be viewed. The killer’s point of view, the fiance’s viewpoint and from the point of view of the victim. The movie, as could be expected would have some made-up story. The movie is obviously not identical to the actual story on which it is based. The most notable change could be seen here, where Philip Markoff and fiance Megan McAllister met with each other while they were volunteering at Boston University Medical Center, whereas, in reality, the two met while they both were studying medicine in Albany, New York.

Most of the time movies incorporate and blend a little of the killer’s and victim’s perceptions. This usually calls for guesses regarding what could the victim have thought or have said. “Craigslist Killer” went with a different route instead. The movie tells the story through the fiance of the main protagonist, Philip Markoff. Viewers do find Philip Markoff alone, when he is not with his fiance, Megan McAllister, and also see him interacting with his victims. Most of the movie is based on the relationship between Megan McAllister and Philip Markoff, and how the relationship gets destructed by the protagonist’s actions.
