July 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) In the latest offering from Discovery Channel is the second season of the reality series ‘The Colony’ which premiered on Tuesday. The show focuses on the real life candidates from different backgrounds who are put in a situation similar to the aftermath of a great disaster. They are tested at every level and are pushed to the most extreme boundaries of tolerance to survive in the post disaster atmosphere of the Colony.

In the second season the contestants are first kept in a 72 hour isolation that helps them to adapt to the ‘end of the world’ perspective. Soon after the isolation period they realize that there is a strong threat to their survival as the outsiders seem to push them to the edge of the physical confrontation. The volunteers are kept awake without food or water to make them realize the threat of a ‘aftermath of disaster’ situation. It is extremely intriguing to watch how the volunteers adapt to the new environment and how the social rules are bent in order for them to survive. Among the new set of volunteers this season there is also a 70 year old man called De Ville and a 22 year old model named Becka. With a wide range of new skills the survivors battle it out for survival.

‘The Colony’ volunteers also needs to make sure that they get along with each other and develop new methods for survival. In the first season the volunteers came up with solar panels and several other devices that showed them slowly developing an advanced civilization with the help of intelligence and strength. Several fans of the show are now looking forward to the new season which promises to be the most real amongst the reality of reality series.
