‘The Colbert Report’ suspended

New York, Feb 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Comedy Central has announced that the taping for “The Colbert Report” on Wednesday and Thursday were canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Those who planned to be among the studio audience were sent notices that the taping will not be taking place as scheduled.

The producers informed the audience that their positions will be reserved for the next taping of the show. Officially, Comedy Central has not indicated when the next taping will take place but one of the guests who was scheduled to appear on the show says the show might return in March.

Author Susan Cain was scheduled to appear on the show on Thursday but she revealed that it has been canceled. She revealed on her Twitter page that her appearance on the show has been rescheduled to March.

On Wednesday, Comedy Central showed a repeat in the slot where the taping ought to have been. The network says the same will happen on Thursday. The network failed to give further details on what hindered the production from going ahead.

A spokesperson of Comedy Central said that, “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16.”
