Jan 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “The Cape” TV series had its two-hours premiere, telecast at 9p.m on NBC. The series has created a buzz on television. The story revolves around an honest police officer who because of the circumstances, gets wrongfully accused of the crimes, that take place in a fictional city where he lives. This cop makes use of smoke, mirrors and cape to fight the crimes taking place in the city. The character of “The Cape” is played by David Lyons.
The actor dons the character of Vince Faraday, the “Cape” in the TV series. Vince Faraday is a police turned crime fighter who is able to snag objects, people or anything that comes in his path to save the city from crimes. His chief enemy is a criminal billionaire named “Chess”. The character of this nemesis is played by James Frain of “True Blood” fame. He’s also a killer, having a mysterious ally known as Orwell, played by Summer Glau. Sunday’s premiere showed Chess creating fear in the city and the whole police force is failing to keep them in control and are taking the help of ARK, a private law enforcement company. The whole scene takes place in Palm City, (Los Angeles’ version of Gotham City).
The question is whether “The Cape” could remain entertaining people in its hour-long episodes. Since it premiered last night, the episode was two hours long. The series gets aired every Monday, with the duration of one hour. “The Cape” could become a great hit among the viewers who love to watch superhero movies or have an inclination towards superhero genre. But it is doubtful whether it could build much of an audience grip as people are quite wary of these cliche superhero flicks.
