Nov. 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Among the major movies released this weekend, the Cameron Diaz starer ‘The Box’ created quite a lot of buzz among the viewers. The movie, directed by Richard Kelly also features James Marsden.
The early response from the viewers is that the movie is a bit weird. This is a movie that puts the focus on the characters rather than other elements like special effects or sound score. The main characters of the movie include Arthur Lewis and Norma Lewis, who get their hands on a mysterious box from a person called Arlington Steward. The person who gave them the box was unique and half of his face was burnt. The viewers will find it quite hard to think about what he was saying in the movie. They are likely to be drawn by the weird look of his face.
The lead pair is offered the box by the man with half burnt face and they are told that if they click a button, an unknown person will die. In exchange of that, they will be given a million dollar. When Norma pushes the button after concluding it as a crude joke, she throws open a pandora’s box. A series of strange events start happening to the lead pair.
At the end of the movie the protagonists are led to a sordid and tragic realization. “The Box” offer turns out to be a gruesome deal offered to a number of families in succession. Overall the movie succeeds in delivering its message that one should not run after money in change of fishy and weird tasks.
