“The Bill Engvall show”, in which the comedian Bill Engvall plays the role of Pearson, a family counselor, has managed to make it to a third season despite having colorless characters and lack luster domestic humors.

The most important part is that, the TBS series lacks mostly everything that is present in other shows or family dramas. The show which kick started its third season only last week has Engvall, playing the character of Bill Pearson as a hapless suburban dad who works as a family counselor during the day. The show puts Engvall as a puppet of her decision-making wife, Susan (Nancy Travis). The third season will also see the emergence of his three kids namely Lauren (Jennifer Lawrence), Trent (Graham Patrick Martin) and Bryan (Skyler Gisonodo).

Judging by the characters and the plot one may think that Bill must be emotionally articulate at the office. But it isn’t so as Bill’s work place makes only a rare appearance in the first few episodes of this season. If the show would have seen Bill sitting down with a client, thus imparting his wisdom in order to make their lives better would have certainly helped the show to gain a strong foothold over the audience. But it fails miserably in all the possible aspects that a comedy show can have.

The show is specifically disappointing for Engval, who had donned strong performances over the years in television sitcoms before establishing a firm identity as a member of “The Blue Collar Comedy”. But it is pretty sad to say that the new season of “The Bill Engvall Show” is marked with domestic humor (barely it can be called as a ‘humor’ though) and lack luster performances.
