London, Jan 30 (IANS) Actor Mel Gibson reportedly called in police after a DVD of his new movie “The Beaver” was stolen from his mailbox outside his Los Angeles home.Contactmsuic.com reports, production bosses at Summit Entertainment sent Gibson a copy of the film, directed by Jodie Foster, so he could view the final cut before its world premiere at the upcoming South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.
Gibson watched the film earlier this week and put it back in his mailbox, ready for collection by a courier Wednesday. But the DVD was not found when the delivery man came to pick up the package.
Officers at the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are now investigating the matter as a petty theft.
