The Amityville Truth and Horror

The Amityville is based on a true story published in September 1977. The true story is a best selling book by the author Jay Anson. The book also formed a series of film made in 1979 and 2005. The story is based on actual paranormal events.
In 1974, Ronald Defeo murdered his parents and four siblings [two brothers and two sisters]. Ronald Defeo came into the Henry’s Bar in Amityville, Long Island [New York] saying his parents got shot, help h im. A small group followed Defeo and went to 112 Ocrean Avenue. It was found that in the house , six people were shot dead in their beds. Ronald Defeo Jr, was the eldest son and the victims were Ronald Defeo Sr. 43, Louise Defeo 42, and the siblings Dawn 18, Allison 13, Marc 12 and JOhn Mathew 9. There were all shot dead by .35 caliber lever action Marlin rifle.
After the Defeo murders, the house remained empty for thirteen months and in 1975 [December] the house was brought at a bargain price for $80000 by George and Kathleen Lutz.
The house was a Dutch colonial style with six bedrooms, swimming pool and a boathouse. The couple moved in with their children, December 23,1975, where the furniture of the Defeo’s was still remained. After the Lutz famil shifted , they did experience certain things ; George Lutz used ti wake up 3.15 am every morning and also learned the Defeo’s estimated killing time.
Apart from the actual fact, nine films had been made based on the Amityville Horror. The first and the best known film of “Amityville Horror” is the first version in 1979 directed by Stuart Rosernberg. In the United States box office the film grossed $ 86 million.
