Dec 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Shelley Malil who appeared in the film “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” was sentenced to life term on Thursday with possible parole in 12 years for stabbing his ex-girlfriend over 20 times when he found her with another man. Harry Elias, San Diego County Superior Court Judge, sentenced the actor 3 months after a jury convicted him of a vivacious murder attempt as well as assault with some deadly weapon. He has supposedly stabbed the lady with a kitchen knife.

“The 40-Year-Old Virgin” actor apologized for stabbing his former girlfriend in front of the court and said he wanted to go to prison. The couple began dating in 2007 and their relationship had alway been on the rocks, as reported by the authorities. According to prosecutors, two days before the attack, “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” actor stranded his ex girlfriend Beebe along with her cousin on the beach, stole marijuana as well as other items from her house and locked her out of her house. Before the sentencing, the woman spoke to the court regarding the emotional and the physical pain she suffered. The sentence makes Shelley Malil eligible for 12 years’ imprisonment, but prosecutor Keith Watanabe said that the actor could be freed in as few as 9 years if he could show good conduct.

The actor’s attorney argued there was no doubt Shelley Malil went too far as he picked up a kitchen knife and started to stab Beebe, but that he never intended to kill her. The defense questioned the woman’s credibility as a witness as well as described her as a drama queen who made men jealous.
