Tevin Campbell Performed At The BET Awards

Tevin Campbell made a surprise appearance at the BET Awards held at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28. Though his sudden TV appearance surprised the crowd, it was not long before they got their foot tapping to the talented guy’s tune. Campbell paid tribute to O’Jays at the BET Awards along with Trey Songz, Tyrese and Johnny Gill. The popular O’Jays numbers like “Forever Mine”, “Back Stabbers” and “Stairway to Heaven” were belted out by the singers.
Campbell’s five octave vocals sounded strong and powerful throughout the whole performance and by the crowd’s enthusiastic response it is evident that the singer/ composer was an instant hit for the show. The O’Jays were honored with the Life Time Achievement award at this year’s Black Entertainment Television Awards. At this year’s BET Awards, there has been a lot of last minute inclusion in the list of performers, abruptly pitched in, due to last minute changes.
Tevin Campbell is a five time Grammy nominated R & B singer/ composer who is often referred to as the male Whitney Houston because of his high ranging vocals. He had debuted with the single “Tomorrow (A Better You Better Me) in the year 1990, topping the Billboard Hot R & B/ Hip Hop Singles chart. Like the other big names in the hip hop category Usher and Bobby Brown, Campbell had made the successful transition from a child singer to an adult R & B artist. Quincy Jones had been early to spot this talented singer and introduce him to the music scene. In December 2005, Campbell had joined the cast of the Broadway musical “Hairspray”, which has recently closed down.

Tevin was wonderful. I was so glad to see him and he sounded great! When are you going on tour? I’ll be in the front row.

when i heard his name get called out and i saw him , i almost fainted, i love tevin campbell voice and i havent seen him in years , so it was so awsome to see him again , and he still sounds amazing!!

I was very shocked when I heard Tevin’s name. His perfomance was short but was wonderful. Sound as great as yesterday.

When I saw his face on TV… I continued to scream at the TV loudly saying “TEVIN- I LOVE YOU… TEVIN- I MISSED YOU… TEVIN- WE NEED YOU.
You get the point.
He definitely needs to make a comeback.

I was so glad to hear Tevin perform. It was just too short; I bet he was just getting started!!! Tevin, Trey, Tyrese, & Johnny were the best performers. They really made the show b/c I did not watch hardly any of it; most of it was just crap! Shame on BET to even consider that a tribute to the King of Entertainment-Mr.Michael Jackson.Tevin sounded great;I’m so glad that he still has that amazing voice. He is such a talented and gifted young man who need to be still recording and seranading us with his timeless music. Love you Tevin, pleeez hurry back.

You kno’ people are waiting for you to comeback….If you’re worried about the media frenzy….uuuuh, isn’t it part of show biz! I was screaming so much , that I missed the whole performance on the BET AWARDS. Lucky for me , was recording the awards on dvd.I have loved TC sinceI was 12 years old, that makes it 20 years now I have been a devoted fan to TEVIN CAMPBELL, my first son middle name is Tevin’s middle name. Please come back to da world. My b-day is that day b4 Tevin’s. I met him 3 times in my life, I even had my bridesmaids go down to the Tevin remake of knocks me off my feet AUG 9 2008. luv ya
