Terry McMillan’s sequel to ‘Waiting to Exhale’ to be made into a movie
September 29th, 2010 - 7:58 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattSep 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Famous author Terry McMillan has released the follow up to her novel Waiting to Exhale called ‘Getting to Happy’. And reports by EW.com indicates that a deal is in place between the writer and Twentieth Century Fox to use the storyline in an upcoming movie. McMillan and Lori Hutcherson will write the movie’s screenplay.
The writer has born on October 18 1951 in Port Hurion, Michigan and she took interest in writing when she started working in a library at the age of sixteen. She was awarded a BA Journalism degree by University of California, Berkeley and most of her writings are characterized by female heroes.
She has written best sellers such as Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got her Groove Back, Disappearing Acts, A day Late and A Dollar Short, etc. All of her books with the exception of her debut, Mama have turned into movies.
McMillan tied the knot with Jonathan Plummer in 1998. Plummer was over twenty years her junior and their marriage inspired her book, How Stella Got Her Groove Back. They went separate ways in December 2004, when Plummer confessed that he was a homosexual.
