Tenors to grace Classical Brit Awards in London
March 19th, 2009 - 5:15 pm ICT by ANILondon, March 19 (ANI): Two of the remaining Three Tenors, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, will grace the Classical Brit Awards in London.
Though the duo is not expected to perform at the event, Domingo may present his fellow Tenor with a lifetime achievement award.
Italian singer Luciano Pavarotti, who completed the trio, passed away in 2007, reports the BBC.
Domingo and Carreras came together on stage for the first time since Pavarotti’’s death for a tribute gig at Petra in Jordan last year.
The three had begun their collaboration with an iconic performance at the ancient Baths of Caracalla, Rome, Italy - the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup final, which was followed by another gig in London a year later. (ANI)
