Temple Grandin Bags Seven Emmy Awards

rtempLos Angeles, Aug 31, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 62md PrimeTime Emmy Awards which was held with much elan at Nokia Theater in Los Angeles witnessed some of the most celebrated television works bestowed with their due recognition. Like previous years, even this time round, HBO dominated the much-coveted television awards registering a number of Emmys in a variety of categories. However, it was the TV movie “Temple Grandin” that was shown on the cable network turned out to be the big winner of the night as it took home as many as seven honors which included three acting awards.

The HBO miniseries “Temple Grandin” which tells the true story of an autistic woman who plays a pivotal role in reforming slaughterhouses, has received nominations in as many as 15 categories which in itself tells its story of success. The 63-year-old woman on whom the miniseries is based was also present in the gala award ceremony last night who cheered boisterously every time “Temple Grandin” was declared a winner in a particular category. Although in her remarkable life, Temple Grandin has many inspirational stories to tell, her big win at the Emmy night was something that she will definitely cherish for the rest of her life.

While reacting to the multiple honors that the TV movie based on her life received, a delighted Temple Grandin told the media later that the recognition that had been bestowed on the film was really hard to believe. The HBO series showcases her life as an autistic child and follows her as she begins her career as a food-animal welfare and equipment designer.
