Telangana activists disrupt Simha shooting
March 5th, 2010 - 5:20 pm ICT by Sampurn WireMarch 5 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Telangana activists tried to disrupt the shooting of the film, “Simha’, on the outskirts of Hyderabad, recently. The protestors insisted that the crew had not taken permission to shoot at that particular location. This created chaos, and the action scenes that were choreographed there had to be stalled. Police personnel rushed to the spot before any real harm was done, and arrested over 20 agitators. Although things came back to normal pretty soon, the producers are shaken by the incident. They are worried that the Telangana Movement will cause them more losses, if the activists prevent the release of the movie in the Nizam region. The post-production work of the film is in progress, simultaneously with the shooting, at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad. Producer Kireeti confirmed that they are looking at a summer release. The film stars popular hero Balakrishna, who was not present at the location, at the time of the agitation.
