Teen singer Charice Pempengco undergoes botox treatment to appear ‘fresh in front of the camera’
July 26th, 2010 - 8:52 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Filipino teen musician Charice Pempengco who is set to appear in the hit show Glee has had Botox and an anti-aging treatment according to her doctor. The 18-year-old singer and actor underwent the procedure to get a more natural rounded face.
She had said in the past that she wouldn’t consider surgery as she felt comfortable with her appearance but fans will be waiting to see the effect of the surgery on the teenager. According to Philippine’s ABS-CBN television, Charice said that, “All people will be anticipating how will Charice look? Is she good enough to pit against Rachel Berry [played by Lea Michele]? So of course there is tremendous pressure.” She also added that she did so because she wanted to look fresh in front of the camera.
Representatives of the musician have also claimed in an interview with US Weekly that the surgery was for a medical condition related to the jaw. The singer has already appeared on the Oprah show and was tagged “the most talented girl in the World”.
There are now concerns over the pressure on teenagers to have plastic surgery to change their appearance just like virtually all of Hollywood.
