July 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Charice Pempengco, the Filipino teen singer told a reputed media source that she prepared for her debut on the television show “Glee” by getting Botox, an anti-aging procedure. The 18-year-old singer said that she underwent the surgery for 30 minutes with a skin tightening procedure and Botox to make her naturally round face more narrow to change her look.
The singer also said that she underwent the surgery to look fresh on camera. The cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo said to a reputed media source that the singer received Thermage, a skin tightening procedure to sharpen her naturally round face. However, her publicist Liz Rosenberg said that the singer underwent the surgery for her muscle pain and not for any cosmetic reason. The cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo showed the Botox procedure in front of the cameras to show the world and explained how Botox works.
Charice Pempengco spoke in the same interview and said that her makeover was the part of big preparations for her appearance on “Glee”. The singer said that she was under tremendous pressure about how she would look and hence took the decision of going under the knives. This surgery, however, raised a lot of eyebrows and Dr. Malcolm Roth, the president of New York’s Society of Plastic Surgeons and director of plastic surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in New York said that he was not sure of the fact as how could someone benefit from a surgery of Botox. However, the singer said that the surgery is a “blessing” for her and she loves it.
