conan Conan O’Brien’s new employer TBS has come out in his support for an Emmy Award for his earlier show ‘The Tonight Show’ in NBC.

TBS has launched a “for your consideration” campaign to support O’Brien with two ads. However, NBC did not include Conan’s show on its campaign DVD. It opted for the return of ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ for the same.

This is just a trick by the NBC to get attention for their upcoming show which will be launched on November 8. O’Brien has signed a deal with the channel in April for a Monday-Thursday 11 p.m. show. Currently, that time slot is dedicated to a talk show by George Lopez.

In a statement, Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks said, “We are very happy to have Conan joining TBS at the end of this year. His excellent work in 2009 and 2010 deserves to be considered for an Emmy.”

The voting for Emmy started on June 4 and it will continue until the 21st of June. On July 8, the nominee will be announced and later on in August 29, the winners will be declared at the NBC telecast of the 62nd Emmy Awards.

Jimmy Fallon, the successor of O’Brien’s at ‘Late Night’ will be hosting the event, which will certainly be worth watching.
