June 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Wednesday, TBS went on to air the premiere episode of the sitcom “Are We There Yet?” The situation comedy that features Essence Atkins as Suzanne and Terry Crews as Nick (husband of Suzanne) was able to pull enough viewers.
Though some critics maintained that “Are We There Yet?” is following the pattern of sitcoms like “According to Jim” and “My Wife and Kids” and is working on stereotypical plot line and predictable laugh areas, there is no denying the fact that the show has brought together some of the most well known comedians.
On Wednesday, it is the comic timing of these actors that led the viewers to laugh hard during the show.
“Are We There Yet?” is a based on the 2005 movie that bore the same name. However, the television adaptation of the theatrical feature is loosely based on it and the writer has taken enough liberty to make the show a worth watch.
As was made clear by the first episode of “Are We There Yet?”, Suzanne and Nick have recently got married and Nick is learning to cope up with the demands of fatherhood as his wife has two teenage children, Lindsey (Teala Dunn) and Kevin (Coy Stewart).
The other characters that are most likely to be seen in the show are Nick’s mother (Telma Hopkins), friend Martin (Christian Finnegan) and Suzanne’s secret sharer friend Gigi (Keesha Sharp).
The first episode of the show focused on Suzanne’s indecision on the matter of changing her surname after her marriage and Nick’s thoughts about the two children who he thinks do not like him much.
Though the premiere episode only introduced the characters and went on to hint at the storyline, the viewers are now waiting for the next episode of the show to judge its quality.
