Taylor wins at the 2011 CMT music awards

Los Angeles, June 9 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Country singer Taylor Swift won the prized Video of the Year award during the 2011 Country Music Television awards. The singer won the award with the video of her work ‘Mine’.

There were some notable absentees during the event. Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert who were all winners on the night were conspicuously absent from the event. Lady Antebellum picked the award for Group Video of the Year during the event with Blake picking the Male Video of the Year award.

Other winners were Miranda Lambert who won the Female Video of the Year award with the video of the track “The House That Built Me.” Sugarland picked the Duo video of the Year award with the video “Stuck Like Glue.” Breakthrough Video of the Year was awarded to The Band Perry for “If I Die Young” with Justin Bieber and Rascal Flatts picking up the Collaborative video of the year for their work on the piece “That Should Be Me.”

The event was brought to life with performances from Keith Urban, Sugarland and The Band Perry who performed their own version of Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie.”

The event was shown live on CMT.
