Taylor Swift’s ‘Mean’ wins best country song
February 13th, 2012 - 9:18 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, Feb 13 (IANS) Singer Taylor Swift walked away with the best country song title and best country solo performance for her number “Mean” at the 54th Grammy Awards here.
The 22-year-old singer’s song “Mean” from her album “Speak Now” beat “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” (Jim Collins and David Lee Murphy), “God Gave Me You” (Dave Barnes), “Just Fishin’” (Casey Beathard, Monty Criswell and Ed Hill), “Threaten Me With Heaven” (Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Will Owsley and Dillon O’Brian) and “You And Tequila” (Matraca Berg and Deana Carter) to win the best country song title.
While in the best country solo performance for the same, she was chosen over Jason Aldean (”Dirt Road Anthem”), Martina McBride(”I’m Gonna Love You Through It”), Blake Shelton (Honey Bee) and Carrie Underwood (”Mama’s Song”).
