Taylor Swift honored with the ‘Songwriter and Artist of the Year’ award at Nashville

Los Angeles, Oct 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Singer Taylor Swift has been honored as the songwriter and artist of the year for the 4th time in 5 years. She was also one of the artist’s inducted into the Nashville Songwriters’ Hall of Fame. The event was held on Sunday night at a ceremony in the Renaissance Hotel.

The singer performed on the night to the guests of about 1,000 people who filled the hotel for the ceremony.

She told the audience that, “You all are all my heroes. Ever since then there’s been thousands of times in my life where I’ve said to myself, ‘Don’t mess this up, don’t mess this up, don’t mess this up’ — including right now and I’m just going to keep going out there and trying not to mess this up.”

Swift was among several other performers and songwriters who were honored on the night. Other stars like Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Allen Shamblin, John Bettis and Thom Schuyler.

In a related story, Billboard has named Swift as the “Woman Of the Year” for 2011. The 21-year-old has thus become the youngest artists ever to receive the honor.

Swift is enjoying tremendous success in her career. She has reportedly received 89 awards so far.
