Rockville, Dec.06, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Virginia couple, Tareq and Michaele Salahi, who had grabbed headlines few days ago by gatecrashing a white house dinner are making news once again. Reportedly, Tareq Salahi had to give up his expensive Patek Phillipe watch to pay a long standing debt in a courtroom on Friday.

According to certain reports, the couple owed around $2,000 to a landscaper and a trail was held at the Warren County courthouse on Friday to settle the matter. The details that have been revealed in the matter indicate that the couple was supposedly asked to settle the debt in the month of December last year. However, the Virginia couple failed to do so and as a result were summoned by the court on Friday. The couple who arrived half an hour earlier then their scheduled time were accompanied by their attorney, David Silek. At the same time, they are said to have answered questions from the landscaper’s attorney and were interrogated about the lapse in payment.

Although, the couple refused to give any kind of reaction about the incident to the reporters who had gathered outside the courtroom, it has been revealed that the couple were questioned about their financial status. However, later both the parties agreed on the Patek Phillipe watch that Tareq Salahi was wearing and it was decided that the money recovered by selling the watch would be used to pay the debt. At the same time, Salahi’s attorney claimed that expensive watch was worth much more than what the couple were supposed to pay but the judge ruled that the watch would be held until the best way to sell the watch is decided.
