After T20 cricket matches took the nation by storm, now it’s the turn of T20 format in Indian cinema to do the same. Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has launched ‘T20 of Indian Cinema’. A unique contest to rate the Top 20 films of Indian Cinema.
The nation-wide contest, which was launched on November 10, is a major initiative by (ESG) to promote the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The contest, the first-of-its-kind, is the brainchild of its Chief Executive Officer, Manoj Srivastava to involve the whole country into rating the top 20 feature films of Indian Cinema in the past 96 years of its existence.
The contest is run on a specially created website, www.t20ofindiancinema.com from November 10 to 29. The grand finale will take place during the 40th International Film Festival of India in Goa on November 30.
The evaluation criterion is that the 20 choices received from the film directors and film critics will be merged to arrive at a master choice. The twenty participant’s choices matching with this master choice will be declared winners. Prizes will be given away to the first twenty correct choices. The winners will be invited to Goa to attend the IFFI.
The prominent directors from the different regions who will be taking part in the contest are Madhur Bhandarkar (Mumbai), Vishal Bhardwaj (Mumbai), Nagesh Kukunoor (Hyderabad), Rituparno Ghosh (Kolkata), Rahul Dholakia (Mumbai), Cheran (Chennai), Shyamaprasad (Thiruvananthapuram), P Seshadry (Bangalore), Manju Borah (Guwahati), Gajendra Ahire (Mumbai).
