June 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Rambo star Sylvester Stallone is planning to retire from acting and take up direction, full time. Recently, the actor has been honored with a special award for his film career at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Speaking about his plans, Stallone said, “I am aiming to take the route of Clint Eastwood ultimately. So, I am planning to start directing films without acting in them.”

Currently, the actor is looking ahead to his upcoming action film Expendables. Here, he will be seen leading a group of veteran armed force on a deadly mission. Veteran action stars Mickey Rourke (57), Arnold Schwarzenegger (62) and Bruce Willis (55) will have cameo roles in the film.

The actor believes that the time has come to face new challenges. The 63-year-old actor was immortalized by his roles as a boxer “Rocky Balboa’ in the Rocky movie series and also as the soldier John Rambo in the Rambo movies. Sylvester now wants to show his talent behind the camera.

The Expendables, probably the last movie of Stallone as an actor, is set to release worldwide in August.
