Jan 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Legendary Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone sustained a neck injury recently while he was shooting for an upcoming movie. The movie named ‘The Expendables‘ started making headlines ever since it was announced. While shooting a heavy duty fight sequence in the movie, the 63 year old star injured his neck seriously. A fracture was detected in his neck and required a surgery afterwards, as per the reports. He was shooting an intense fighting scene with Steve Austin the former WWE wrestler. However, the ‘Rocky Balboa’ star has a history of getting injured while shooting for his films.

Sylvester Stallone suffered another serious injury earlier when he was shooting for the blockbuster ‘Rocky IV’ way back in 1985. He was injured grievously and could die. The movie ‘The Expendables’ has all the big action heroes of Hollywood including Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li. The plot of the movie deals with how a military squad brings down a dictator in South America. This time Sylvester Stallone needed a metal plate insertion in his neck. However, all the action stars are in their late years including Mickey Rourke. Incidentally the movie also has Brittany Murphy who passed away a few days back in cardiac attack.

In a recent interview, Sylvester Stallone said that the so called rivalry between him and Arnold Schwarzenegger is a thing of the past now. In their young years these two action heroes used to dominate Hollywood action flicks. ‘The Expendables’ is going to be their first film together. Despite his injury the star is upbeat about finishing the shooting in time.
