Bollywood celebrities are well-known for their dedication. Swati Chitnis, who is making a comeback with Road to Sangam after giving a terrific performance in RGV’s Jungle in 2000 has become an epitome of the very word “dedication’.
The director of the film Road to Sangam, Amit Rai explains why. “Swati is sharing the silver screen with Paresh Rawal as his wife in the film. They were supposed to have an extremely emotional scene. To top it all, the budget of the film had its limitation and our unit was supposed to wrap-up the film in a limited time frame. Unfortunately, during that time Swati lost her husband. Her husband expired and naturally she had to rush to her home town. What can be worse for a woman than to lose her husband?”
“And as she comes from a “Brahmin’ family, she can’t leave her home unless 13 days of mourning are over, but she is a very dedicated actor. She came back within 3 days. She not only came on the sets, but she also shot for movie. She gave her shot in one take. We were all shocked at her control. Personal grief can overpower everything, but she is a committed actor. We salute her,” Rai signs off.
