Susan Boyle’s Got Talent!May 26th, 2009 - 12:39 am ICT by GD
Looks like Adam Lambert is not the only one who had the notoriously harsh and critical Simon Cowell soften down and give a standing ovation. Simon Cowell got up from his seat and applauded as Susan Boyle finished performing her rendering of “memory” at the “Britain’s Got Talent” show.
The 47-year old singer sailed past the semi-finals on May 23 and justified her selction with the Broadway number as the judges and the in-studio audience gave her a standing ovation after her performance. When asked about how she felt with all the accolades coming her way, Susan said that it felt “unbelievable”. She was also asked if the popularity and applause meant that tonight’s performance was more under pressure, and she said, “What pressure? It was really good tonight, I really enjoyed it … I’m very happy to be here and thank you all for your support.”
Simon Cowell told Susan at the end of her performance, “ou know what, I just want to apologize because of the way we treated you before you sang the first time. You made me and everyone else look very stupid and I’m very happy for you, very proud for you.”
Sunday’s round meant the end of semi-finals with Susan Boyle securing her pace in the finals with another contestant. The finale of Britain’s Got Talent is scheduled on Saturday May 30. Susan’s audition performance had got millions of hits on YouTube and with the semi-final round’s Memory, her YouTube popularity seems to be touching newer heights.
