Susan Boyle’s four-letter rant may have cost her Britain’s Got Talent trophy
May 31st, 2009 - 11:52 am ICT by ANILondon, May 31 (ANI): Susan Boyle’s recent four letter rants may have cost her the Britain’s Got Talent title.
Predictions that Susan would go on to bag the top spot took a beating after the star lost out to street dance group Diversity in the recent finals.
The 48-year-old was foreseen by many to win the 100,000 pound prize and the chance to perform at the Royal Variety Show in December after her jaw dropping performances turned her into an overnight celebrity and attracted millions of hits on video sharing websites.
Susan had sparked concerns after having two outbursts in a day, when she threw a tearful tantrum at her London hotel in which she swore at officers.
Hours earlier she reacted angrily after her favourite judge Piers Morgan praised her 12-year-old competitor Shaheen Jafargholi.
Morgan had previously revealed the distraught Scottish church singer had thought of packing her bags and quitting the talent show following excessive media criticism.
She was later reported to have been shifted to a safe house while preparing for the finals.
The red-hot favourite to prevail in the talent show was left facing disappointment after the results were announced on May 30.
Susan congratulated the shocked 10-strong group from Essex, saying “the best people won”.
“I wish you all the best,” The BBC quoted her as saying.
The amateur singer later sang her audition song I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables again.
Judge Simon Cowell said: “Win or lose you had the guts to come back here and face your critics and you beat them - whatever happens you can walk away from this with your head held high.” (ANI)
