Susan Boyle London, Dec 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) In a major shot in the arm for the old-scruffy contestant of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, her debut album has been declared as the biggest album of 2009. Susan Boyle’s album ‘I dreamed a dream’ is the best selling album of 2009, both in the UK and in the US. She had stiff competition in US, in the form of Rihanna and Adam Lambert, but she beat them hollow, with her album sales scaling new heights. In the UK, she beat Lady Gaga and Kings of Leon to emerge as the top selling artist of the year.

Susan Boyle says that she is no longer depressed and is now happier than she has ever been after a “brilliant year”. The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle, whose album ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ is poised to be the UK’s top seller this year - said her success was “humbling” and she was looking forward to 2010.

The Scottish church worker, Susan Boyle joins the likes of great musical artists, who have sold over 1 million copies of an album. And the most surprisingly part is that she did that with her debut album itself. They call that a Gold record in the music industry and it sure us a shot in the arm for Susan Boyle to taste such success, with her debut album. She has actually sold 3 million already and counting. Just last week alone “I Dreamed A Dream” sold 700,000 copies.
