Susan Boyle’s album ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ debuts at No.1

Susan Boyle who took everyone by surprise in ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and now her debut album entered the British music charts at No. 1 and is Britain’s fastest selling debut album ever. This is quiet an achievement for the middle aged lady who didn’t manage to win the Britain’s Got Talent show, but is as successful as any debutant can ever be.

Susan Boyle’s new album I Dreamed A Dream has become the largest ever debut for a female artist in US chart history, selling 700, 763 copies in her first week. The 48-year-old Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan also topped the charts in Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. Boyle’s album has sold over 3 million copies worldwide since it’s release last week.

Before Brittan’s Got Talent, no one had heard of the 48-year-old Boyle, a self-described Scottish “spinster” who lived alone with her cat. She took everybody in Britain and the online world by storm after a stunning performance on Britain’s Got Talent TV show.

In a pre-performance interview aired later, Boyle said: “I’ve always wanted to perform in front of a large audience. I’m going to make that audience rock.” And she sure took the world by storm. Her video on YouTube of her performance became a must-click for any music lover worth his salt.
