Susan Boyle thrills crowd on homecoming showJune 16th, 2009 - 12:05 pm ICT by ANI
London, June 16 (ANI): Susan Boyle won herself a standing ovation as she thrilled the Scotland crowd with her sensational performance on home soil.
The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up wooed fans with her performance of West End hits Memories and I Dreamed a Dream on the show’s tour at Glasgow’s SECC.
The 48-year-old took to the same stage where she sang her audition song, which turned her into an overnight celebrity and gathered more than 100 million YouTube hits.
The songbird later blew kisses to her fans amid cheers during her homecoming show.
“She was brilliant. She had to be here tonight. She was great and deserved every bit of support she got and she got the loudest cheer of the evening,” The Sun quoted one fan, Bryan Felvus, 23, of Motherwell, as saying.
Audrey Hinde, 39, from Ayrshire added: “I thought she was fantastic. She brought tears to my eyes. She didn’t seem under pressure at all.”
Susan previously sparked health concerns after a four-day stint at a rehab clinic following exhaustion after facing defeat in the show’s finals.
An insider said: “Susan was very brave and was determined to put on a show for her fans in Scotland.
“The trip north must have been a bit daunting for her after all the fuss, but she was happy to be back home.” (ANI)
