London, Dec 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Susan Boyle has got psychological scars from being bullied in school. ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ singing sensation Susan Boyle was bullied in school, so she suffers from depression. The Sun reported that the Scottish singer Susan Boyle, whose debut album, ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ has proved a huge success has said she suffers from bouts of anger and mood swings. She said, “I can be up and down like a yo-yo. I can be depressed. I know I’m taking a big chance telling people this but you have to be honest. I used to be made a fool of at school. It was psychological bullying and that leaves a scar and it also cultivates a lot of anger.”
The “I Dreamed A Dream,” singer Susan said that she had suffered years of depression after being taunted over her learning difficulties, in school by her normal and smart peers. She said that she felt sad and angry over the bullying which even caused some psychological trauma to her and the scars are still healing.
John Carnell, Bullying UK CEO said that their charity was contacted by many people in their thirties, forties, fifties and older who are still suffering from the effects of the bullying, which they suffered in school.
“The good news is that doctors are now so much more sympathetic,” said John. “Older people who seek counseling tell us that they find it very useful in being able to understand that it was the bullies who had the problem, not them, and they can finally seek closure and move on with their lives.”
Susan Boyle’s new album I Dreamed A Dream has become the largest ever debut for a female artist in US chart history, selling 700, 763 copies in her first week. The 48-year-old Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan also topped the charts in Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada and New Zealand. Boyle’s album has sold over 3 million copies worldwide since it’s release last week.
