Sep 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The “Britain’s Got Talent” famed Susan Boyle’s dream finally came true when she got the opportunity to sing for Pope Benedict XVI. The “I Dreamed A Dream” singer sang before and after the Papal mass at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow. The audience loved and appreciated her wonderful performance as she managed to wow the crowd with her melodious voice.
Pope Benedict XVI who visited Britain last week was serenaded by Susan Boyle in Glasgow. As per media reports, it was a golden opportunity for the 49 year old singer to hog the limelight by being a part of such a prestigious affair. After she sang her song, an elated Susan Boyle said that her dream of singing for the Pope has come “true at last”. Being Pope Benedict XVI’s first country visit, he was welcomed by Queen Elizabeth and the head of the Church of England. Recently, many British tabloids have criticized the huge sum that was spent to provide protection to the Pope in his four day long visit.
Susan Boyle performed her phenomenal song “I Dreamed a Dream, “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace” and “How Great Thou Art” for the 65,000 audience present there. While explaining the whole experience, Susan Boyle told a reputed media source that it is “hard to describe” what she felt while performing. She said she cannot put it in words. However, at last she added that it was a very “humbling” and “indescribable” experience for her. Other than Susan Boyle, singer and television presenter Michelle McManus also sang at the papal mass.
And this is not all, as the singer has also managed to secure 3 Guinness World records. She has officially become a part of the records for the fastest-selling record by any female in Britain, the most successful debut album in UK and as the oldest artist to see a first record hit the number one spot, both at home and in the US as well.
