Susan Boyle forgives burglar for stealing her money
December 28th, 2010 - 4:45 am ICT by IANSLondon, Dec 28 (IANS) Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has forgiven the teenage burglar who stole cash from her home. The star returned to her house in West Lothian, Scotland, in January this year to find an intruder in the hallway.
A 16-year-old youth later admitted a charge of theft for stealing $13.50 from the house, and was ordered to hand over $150 to Boyle’s chosen charity.
But the singer said she pitied the teenage thief because he must have been “desperate” to turn to crime, reports contactmusic.com.
“It was such a shame to find I’d been burgled but, apart from shaking me up a bit, nothing personal had been taken. It’s a shame that people get that desperate in life. It makes you realise how fortunate you are,” she said.
