Oregon, Jan 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 37-year-old Jennifer Lyon who was a contestant on the Palau leg of the famous reality show ‘Survivor’ has died an untimely death. She valiantly fought with breast cancer since she was diagnosed in 2005, but she bid her final goodbye on 19th January 2010. She died at her residence in Oregon with her loved ones beside her. She had appeared in 2005 in the Survivor reality show, and she was placed fourth on the show.

She was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer, and she underwent all sorts to treatment to cure it. She got a double mastectomy done, and even received chemotherapy in her efforts to treat the disease. She was aware since some time, of her status as a patient of terminal cancer, and so she did her very best to live her short life to the fullest.

Jennifer Lyon was a very dynamic and a very pro-active person. After her stint on Survivor she became all the more appreciative about the beauty of life, and also the importance of accepting the final end of life, as a simple mortal being. Her stint on Survivor gave her a lot of guts to accept her sad medical situation and live her life to the fullest. She was also instrumental in organizing several fund raising events for the cause of breast cancer research.
