August 20, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The Australian supermodel, Miranda Kerr, has announced that she is expecting her first child. Eunice Oh of people.com had also reported the happy event.

Kerr is 27 years old and is already a model who is in demand. She achieved worldwide fame when she appeared as a model for Victoria’s Secret lingerie. She has now confirmed her happy news by announcing it to the Spanish edition of Vogue magazine. She said that she is four months gone and had found it very difficult to keep the news a secret. She is also set to appear on the cover of the Vogue this September.

She recalls that she had a dreadful time at a job during the early days of her pregnancy. It had been too soon to divulge the news, she added.

She and Bloom had begun dating in 2007. Orlando Bloom, 33, is no stranger to fame either. He has acted in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ as well as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and is considered to be a star.

The Australian store of David Jones had announced both her engagement and marriage as she had been the brand ambassador for them. Kerr had then thanked David Jones for letting her cancel her appearance for their spring/ summer fashion launch.

There was no one available at the store to comment on her pregnancy and on what it could mean for Kerr’s contract now.

Kerr, a native of Gunnedah, Australia had been listed as the ninth top earning model in the Forbes list. Her estimated earnings are said to be close to a $4 million annually.
