If you were wondering what exactly happened to the rock band Sugar Ray, then there is news for you. The band is all geared up to promote their upcoming music album, “Music for Cougars.” As a part of their promotional campaign before the release of the album the band performed at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas Friday night, on the 29thof May. It has been a long time since the band played together. Sugar Ray with their front man Mark McGrath became famous in the 90s with their hit numbers like, “Every Morning,” “Fly,” “When It’s Over” and “Someday.” In fact, their albums “14:59″ and “Floored” were such great hits that they gained platinum status along with extensive airplay.

Mark McGrath, who is also the lead singer of the band, confessed that they named their new album quite spontaneously. In a conversation with Dayna Devon, his former “Extra” co host, McGrath said, “A friend was like ‘Look at your audience’. It was all cougars! … So it was kinda like DING!” Along with this confession McGrath also revealed that he was pleased to get an opportunity to play with the band. This was one part of his life that he really missed in the last decade when the band was going through an unproductive phase.

Though the band was unproductive yet Mark McGrath’s personal career was not so. In September 2004, he started his stint in the television industry by becoming the co-host of the show, “Extra.” He left the show in July 2008 because he wanted to pursue his music career. His fans will remember that he was also a part of American Idol, in 2005, where he once served as a guest judge.
