Sugababes sick of fans’ verbal abuse

London, Nov 17 (ANI): Brit girl group Sugababes have revealed that after their recent line-up change they have been suffering all sorts of verbal abuse from fans.

After founding member Keisha Buchanan was booted out of the group in September this year, following months of turmoil within the band, she was replaced by Eurovision star Jade Ewen.

But the changes left fans fuming, and the band’s page on information website Wikipedia was hacked into, with supporters changing the entry to describe the band as “a hollow, machine-like representation of the music industry’s deconstruction of music as an art form”.

Following Buchanan’s exit, Amelle Berrabah suffered from nervous exhaustion and now Heidi Range, who had joined the band in 2001, admits she’s scared to log onto the group’s Twitter.com site because of all the sick comments they have been receiving recently.

“The abuse on Twitter from some people… I had one person saying ‘Burn in Hell you c**t.’ I had other people saying, ‘Why don’t you get an eating disorder because you look fat.’ Really vicious things,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

Even new member Ewen was targeted, with fans yelling obscenities at her in the street.

“I went into a shop in Stratford (east London). I had someone shouting abuse at me. Really rude, nasty things. What did they say? That I was a backstabbing b**ch. She was obviously a fan of Keisha,” she added. (ANI)
