Richard Gere London, May 25 (ANI): Sharon Stone, Richard Gere, Sir Tom Jones, and Mariah Carey were among celebrities who played guests at the opening of the 800 million pound Mardan Palace resort in Antalya, Turkey.

The recession defying bash also saw the presence of Paris Hilton, actress Monica Bellucci and singer Seal amongst 600 guests feasting on beluga caviar, lobsters and Dom Perignon.

While Sir Tom left females screaming after undoing his shirt, Stone played the host at the 560-room property that was later lit with laser light shows and fireworks, reports the Daily Express.

The hotel, masterminded by Russian property mogul Telman Ismailov, has been tagged as the most expensive luxury resort in Europe after having 10,000 square metres of gold leaf, a pool large enough to accommodate 1,000 guests, and 2,000 floral displays.

While Ismailov refused to spill the details on the cost or payment to celebrity guests, the lavish launch party was said to have left many with heavier pockets.

According to the New York Post, songbird Mariah and Sir Tom both grabbed a staggering 1.5 million dollars each to lend their tunes for the evening. (ANI)
