Steven Spielberg is a father figure for Drew Barrymore
January 13th, 2009 - 2:06 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 13 (ANI): Drew Barrymore says that she sees director Steven Spielberg as a father figure, who provided her with stability during her turbulent childhood years.
The actress, who first tasted success in Spielberg directed E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial at the age of six, went through tumultuous growing up years after her parents divorced when she was a tot.
At that time, it was Spielberg, who also happens to be her godfather, who provided Barrymore with “consistency” in her life and guided her in her career.
“Hes been a very important mentor. He was the first stable male figure in my life. The best attribute a parent can have is consistency, The Daily Star quoted her as saying.
She added: “I didnt have that. When he said he would be there at three oclock, he was there. That meant more to me than anything.” (ANI)
