Steven Seagal Reality Show Canceled: Sex Slave Accusations

April 16th, 2010 - 10:07 pm ICT by Angela Kaye Mason

steve1 Apr 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A reality show which featured Steven Seagal as a deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parrish has been canceled following the sexual trafficking complaint which was filed by Kayden Nguyen. The show was canceled by a Louisianna judge, and Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand who was actually sworn in on Steven’s show, announced it in a news conference which was given on Wednesday. Normand announced the show’s taping was to end until the accusations had been investigated, and invited Kayden to file criminal charges. He said that he does not want to seem as if he is showing favoritism.

While many are protesting this and feeling that the sheriff is betraying Seagal somehow, the move actually makes good sense. This is not a regular reality show, it is a show in which Seagal is acting as a deputy, and making arrests, conducting investigations and the like. Although he is innocent until proven guilty, it is common practice for cops who are under investigation to be relieved of duty until the investigation is concluded. The rules do not change just because the cop in question happens to be doing a reality show.

These actions all stem from the accusations which were made by 23 year old former model Kayden Nguyen, who claims that Seagal hired her as an assistant, and then used her as a sex toy. It was not brought out as a criminal case, but instead, she chose to sue Seagal for one million dollars. She filed the papers on Monday. She stated that soon after she was hired, she realized that her purpose was not to be an assistant, but to replace one of the two “sex slaves” which Seagal kept to “meet his needs.” She got the job by responding to a “Carigslist ad” which was ran in February looking for an assistant for Seagal and his company, Steamroller Productions. She alleges that when she and another assistant were asked to give Seagal a massage at his house, that he tried touching her in a lewd way, and that she tried to flee the house, but that Seagal and his staff would not let her go. “I was terrified of Seagal,” she said. “I feared for my safety.” She also claimed that Seagal keeps Russian sex slaves.

The character of the woman who made the accusations is, of course, under scrutiny, and the fact that she has posed for many nude photos (posted by TMZ) involving sexual acts does not speak well of her complaints of being used as a sex toy. On an Episode of “The Tyra Banks Show” which aired in January of 2009, Nguyen labeled herself a “lipstick lesbian” and stated “(I can) use my sex appeal to get any girl that I want and trick any guy to getting what I want.” Attorney for Seagal, Marty Singer calls the lawsuit, “a ridiculous and absurd claim by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for using illegal narcotics.” It is not the first time in which the actor has been accused of the exact same thing. Whether Nguyen is telling the truth, or making an old story her own to get money from Seagal has yet to be determined.
