Steve Tracy Remembered Fondly By Alison Arngrim In Her Memoir

steveJune 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Alison Arngrim the actress who played the role of Nellie Oleson in the famous “Little House on the Prairie” has penned down a book revealing all.

In the book titled “Confession of a Prairie Bitch: How I Survived Nellie Oleson and Learned to Love Being Hated” talks about her relationship with her co-star and her on-screen husband Steve Tracy who died aged 34. Alison Arngrim says that it was the death of Steve Tracy due to AIDS that inspired her to become an active AIDS activist and safe-sex educationist.

In the book Alison Arngrim remembers Steve Tracy as one of her closest friends who had always remained her “other husband”. The on-screen couple shared a close friendship even after they left the show.

Alison Arngrim maintains that their friendship blossomed more after they left the show adding that the two have never stopped being their onscreen characters Nellie and Percival. They were so close to each other that Alison Arngrim can complete the sentence of Steve Tracy without their being any need for a script.

In the book Alison Arngrim says that Steve Tracy was her “friend, my [her] teacher, the confidant I[she] ran to if I[she] had a fight with a boyfriend.” She needed him now and then and mentions that he was the only constant in her “crazy life”.

She adds that she had clung to him at a time when it seemed that every other thing was moving out of her control. The actress has emphasized repeatedly the important place that Steve Tracy had in her life till he died of AIDS in 1986.
