Steve Martin and Ethan Hawke honored by the NY Public Library

New York, Aug 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Steve Martin, who is an actor, author and playwright has been honored by the New York state for his literary prowess.

The New York Public Library announced a group of 5 library lions on Wednesday. Other people recognized by the Board included actor and author Ethan Hawke, Malcolm Gladwell and Zadie Smith who are both writers and Paul LeClerc.

They were awarded as a result of their sharing of innovative ideas with the rest of the world and the official ceremony will be held at a gala on the 1st of November. However the winners won’t be given any form of financial incentive.

Martin was born in Waco, Texas and worked at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm. He was also involved in comedy and magic around those places. He came into prominence when he started writing for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and appeared regularly as a guest on The Tonight Show.

Martin has confessed in previous interviews that he wasn’t a fan of his father during his teens. However all the same he is an accomplished actor and an acclaimed author as well.
