September 14, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): In a recent interview, the Hollywood funny man Steve Carell said that he does not think he has a great sense of humor. Steve has starred in a serried of funny movies and he is one of the most popular actors in the comedy TV show “The Office’. His movies include “Bruce Almighty’, “Despicable Me’, “Anchorman’, “Date Night’, “Dinner for Schmucks’ etc.
Steve Carell is well established as an actor who can portray all type of roles especially humorous ones. Despite that, Carell claims that he is not very funny so people should refrain from inviting him to a dinner party and expect him to be humorous.
Steve claims that people believe that since he has acted in a number of funny movies, he must be funny in real life too, but that is not true. Steve said, “When I do an appearance on a talk show I really have to push out of myself because it isn’t just a conversation.” He further added, “It has to be of heightened entertainment value so you have to be wittier and more charming than you really are.”
During the interview Steve admitted that “Date Night’ director Shawn Levy encouraged him to be “Inclusive’ with the film and improvise in certain parts too. Steve maintains that the movie’s success was due to the director’s flexibility in improvising the plot.
